The Five People You Must Give A Gift This Season

It’s that time of the year. You can escape giving but your reputation might not survive it so why not just make the commitment?

If you’re willing to commit to it, we’ve lined up five people that you absolutely, totally must give something (nice) this season. Some because they’re often overlooked and some because it’s the smart thing to do (for your future).

1. Yourself.

You first because if you don’t love yourself, you might not find it in you to do anything good for anyone else. That’s all the reason you need.

Our gift recommendations: Break your savings, pay for a spa treat, take a trip. You’ll be very alright. 🙏🏽

2. Your closest neighbour.

Or ‘neighbours’ if you’re feeling particularly generous. Either way, it’s wise to show the people who live closest to you that you appreciate them even if they don’t always deserve it. You never know when you’re going to need them. 👀

Our gift recommendations: A 25kg bag of rice and a big bottle of cooking oil, a carton of frozen chicken, or a shopping voucher.

3. Your oldest family member.

Older people are useful — they either inspire you to be a better version of yourself (as in “When I grow up, I want to be like you”) or they remind you of everything you must never be (as in “God forbid”). Find the oldest positively useful person in your family and do something sweet for them. Your youngers will do the same for you. Amen.

Our gift recommendations: Several live chickens, a free transfer of 25,000 naira, a visit with a loaded hamper in your hand, or all of the above. 🤷🏽‍♀️

4. A friend you haven’t spoken to in over a year.

This one is delicate because who knows why you stopped speaking to this friend? Please, choose someone who didn’t do something horrible like steal your girlfriend or scam you. That’s no longer a friend and we’re not talking about rebuilding a bridge that you burnt for a good reason. The intention is to reconnect with someone who gives you good vibes, and nothing says “I’ve missed you” like a thoughtful gift.

Our gift recommendations: An iTunes or Google Play Store gift card and a long video call.

5. An essential worker at your office.

We hardly pay attention to them, but essential workers make life bearable. Just picture your office toilets without cleaners. You’d be finished.

So, are you ready to say thank you? It’s the least you can do and they’ll never forget you for it.

Our gift recommendations: A 25kg bag of rice and a big bottle of cooking oil, or a free transfer of at least 10,000 naira.

👉🏾 While you’re still here, let’s quickly remind you that you can buy all sorts of gift cards for yourself and people who matter to you on your Kuda app. Tap Pay on the app now, then tap Gift Cards to see the many options you can choose from.

May you get as much love as you give this season. 💜
