2023 was not an easy twelve months for most people. In Nigeria, the year began with a nationwide cash crunch and the rest of it was marked by financial struggles for individuals and businesses alike. Considering these and more difficulties that I will not rehash, I am incredibly grateful that you made it to 2024.
At Kuda, we felt the same pressures that other businesses felt throughout the year but where many sank, we were able to stay afloat thanks to financial discipline and people like you who continue to trust us with their money. Thank you for choosing us, for being patient with us when our services were not as excellent as you would have liked, and for giving us real feedback that has helped us improve.
We are proud of the headway we made against all odds in 2023, from launching cashless features that were a lifesaver during the cash crunch to making Kuda Business even more useful for Nigerian entrepreneurs. These are a solid foundation for the much bigger steps we will take in 2024.
This year, you can look forward to an all-round better Kuda. We have upgraded the technology that powers our services, made concrete plans to speed up the responsiveness of our customer support teams, and lined up new credit features including loans for salary earners and an improved version of Kuda Overdraft that will give you instant access to money when you need it.
Businesses are not left out of our plans. To help entrepreneurs earn the revenue they need to keep running, everyone who signs up for a full Kuda Business account can now apply for a Kuda POS terminal with flexible payment options. We successfully piloted the terminals at several trade fairs in Lagos, so we are confident that they will make a difference to SMEs across the country.
No matter what economic forecasts say, I believe that things are looking up for us all this year and I hope you will share in my optimism as you work towards bringing your personal and business dreams to life.
