Thanks to International Women’s Day, we’ve had a particularly fun week at Kuda HQ.

So much fun that we almost forgot that we piloted Kuda Overdrafts (our no-collateral, short-term loans for anyone who uses their Kuda account actively) on March 8.

Lesson: Money can’t take the shine from Women’s Day.

Let’s recap our week quickly and open your eyes to an old scam that recently resurfaced (hint: text messages).

We #ChooseToChallenge

Everyone at Kuda celebrated International Women’s Day but our lovely women took the celebration up several notches with a glam video (watch it to the end, please).

Several women of Kuda, not all. We are legion.

Gender fact: Women make up almost half of our workforce and we’ll keep balancing for better.

We also started a ‘Women of Kuda’ series that’ll run throughout March on LinkedIn. Like, comment and share. Thanks!

When You Need It

We quietly piloted Kuda Overdrafts this Monday with just over 2,500 randomly selected eligible people.

The pilot program is a prelude to open access to overdrafts, and we intend to have significantly improved the feature by the end of the program.

As we previously shared here, everyone who uses their upgraded Kuda account actively will be able to get an overdraft on demand when the program is over.

Your everything guide to Kuda Overdrafts is here.

Old Scam, New Link?

Newsflash: The text message in this image isn’t from us.

You will not be fooled.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, what’s really going on?

It’s simple: scammers create bogus links to gather people’s banking details and siphon their money.

Also simple: If you don’t tap or click these links, your banking details cannot be collected.

Good To Know:

If you look at the link in the text message carefully, you’ll notice that it’s a lot different from the link to our web app: app.kudabank.com.

You’ll also notice that it’s sent from a random phone number. 😐

Finally, we never, ever send links for account upgrades.

You can upgrade your Kuda account only on your Kuda mobile app.

Looks like just busted a scam together. 😎

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love always,

The Kuda Team
