4 Reasons To Move (From Lagos) To Abuja
Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, promises relatively cheaper food and a better quality of life. If you’ve been thinking of relocating, this might be the push you need.
Social media is littered with banter about the experiences of Lagosians — how they navigate high food prices, the clownery of house agents, ridiculous cab fares, and the everyday shenanigans of living in the city.
If you can relate, it might be time to consider relocating — not to Canada, to Abuja. These are four good reasons to pack your bags and move now:
1. You’ll get more sleep.
Unlike in Lagos, if anyone is waking up at 4:00 am in Abuja, it’s probably just for spiritual warfare. In central parts of the city, 7:00 am is always a good time to start getting ready for an 8:00 am appointment. You’ll make it.
2. You’ll spend less on food.
From markets to restaurants, food prices in Lagos can be scary. Abuja will end that nightmare with reasonably priced foodstuff and cooked meals that won’t make a hole in your bank account. 🤲🏼
3. You’ll enjoy a different kind of nightlife.
It’s hard to top the excitement of Lagos clubs and parties, but Abuja has a mysterious underground nightlife that might give you a rush that you haven’t felt anywhere else. There are mainstream clubs and questionable house parties if you can get an invitation. Just remember to partake responsibly. 👀
4. Again, the traffic.
We don’t need to remind you that Lagos traffic is a destiny-changing monster. Abuja is a whole other planet with roads that don’t feel like deathtraps, quick trips and cheaper cab fares. Time to move.
We’re not saying that you can’t prosper in Lagos, but Abuja might be where you’ll find the most peace. Think about it. 💜
